Look Ma, No Stampin! and some blog candy for you
I finally got my stamping room cleaned up yesterday and had some time to put a card together. I've had these grungeboard letters that I sprayed with Glimmer Mist for several months and finally decided to use them on a card. Here's the deets on this card. The card base is Pink Pirouette and I also used Bravo Burgundy and Georgia Pacific White. The patterned paper is from the BasicGrey Eva collection. I also used a BasicGrey rubon from the Euphoria Olio collection on the white piece. I added a tiny bit of highlighting with a clear Spica glitter pen on the rubon to match the shimmer of the grungeboard letters. Since I glimmered the letters so long ago, I can't remember for sure which Glimmer Mist color I used. I'm not sure if it was Kiwi or Seafoam or both of them layered on each other. Finally, I finished it up with a few buttons from the Making Memories Rouge Paperie Blossom and Button Box that I was completely enabled to buy because of Kristina Werner's last MACM post on her blog. All supplies, other than SU were purchased at my LSS, Scrapbook Territory, but I added some online links for you. If you visit the Bay Area, you definitely need to check out my LSS--it rocks!!!!!
So, this was a super easy card and I really like it. My only bummer is that I cut the inside piece of DP slightly too small but was too lazy to do it over--the UCLA Pac-10 opener was starting and I wanted to watch it with dh :-)
But that's not all! Since I cleaned up my room, I found a few things that I've had for awhile that I haven't used that need to find a home that will show them some love. So, how about some blog candy for you? I'll leave this open until Friday, Jan 9, 2009 at 9 pm PST when I'll pick a random winner for these goodies. One thing I'd like to do is lose 30 pounds before I turn 40. If I lose more, that would be great but I figure if I can lose 30 pounds, I'll be in much better shape and I'm giving myself almost a whole year to do this!!!! Leave me a comment letting me know one of your goals for the year. If you want to be a virtual workout/check-in partner, let me know and I'll give you 2 chances to win. Here are the goodies you can win if your name is picked. A new and unmounted retired SU Hostess set Make it Count, a retired SU Accents and Elements Sweet Nothings set, 2 Mono refills, a few random buttons, Love Elsie mini ribbon, yellow Making Memories eyelets, Crystal & Copper Stickles, Wild Plum Alcohol ink, and a few random buttons. All items and new and unused by me and need a new home. Show me the love and good luck!
Thanks for visiting!

Wow, I can't believe I'm the first one to leave a comment. That's never happened to me. I just want to get my basement cleaned up and my craft room more organized in 2009. Great blog candy - Jackie

ReplyDeleteI would love to be a check in buddy. I need to lose about 150 lbs and I will be 40 April 30, 2009. I will only be able to get about 25-30 lbs off by then but I am trying hard. I need to get 15 or so lbs off my son too. I think your blog is fabulous. I also intend to update my blog more and stamp more.

My resolution is to enter more challenges, which would make sure I craft more regularly, and use my lovely stash of buttons I received for my birthday. Oh, and I wouldn't mind being your virtual workout/check-in partner - I need to get fit, too!
ReplyDeleteI want to push myself to scrap more (I probably could if I'd get off this computer!) and get my craft room organized/cleaned. *sigh* That is such a never-ending process!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I definitely need to get healthy this year - get to the gym more. Also, get organized with my finances and home life. Oh and be less lazy!!! It's great to be able to start fresh and set some goals. I know we can all accomplish some if not all of our goals!
ReplyDeleteHi and good luck with your goal. You can do it! I didn't really set any goals this year, but I would like to send more cards out. Last year I only gave birthday and holiday cards to immediate family and a few sympathy cards, but they are really made to give, so I am going to try and give more.
ReplyDeleteI want to be more thoughtful. I think of others-but never follow through with it.
ReplyDeletewonderful card, Kathy! Love that you're back in stamping mode!!!
ReplyDeletea resolution ... hmmm ... weight loss would probably be a good one but it's not one I've made, it's just a life goal rather than a yearly goal! I think the one thing I'd like to do this year is to keep in touch with my family and friends as much as possible. I've let relationships slide in the "busyness" of life and I refuse to allow that anymore. I want to make time for others!
I want to make more cards and learn new techniques! :)

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Good luck in your goals!
My goal this year (other than the weight to lose every year - haha) is to get our garage and house organized.
ReplyDeleteSweet candy. My goal is one word FOCUS!!
ReplyDeleteIf I can do this then I will be able to be organized, finishing projects, clean stamping room, and spending more time with family. Thanks for a chance at these amazing candy.
Hello Kathy,
ReplyDeleteMy New Year's goal is to try to spend my money a bit more wisely this year. Of course, it would be great to lose at least 20 pounds as well! I'm going to take it one day at a time and I hope to be successful!!

Hi Kathy, You've got a great blog here- it's going into my faves! What a wonderful opportunity to win some great stuff, which ties in to my resolution. This year I plan to use everything I buy (or receive). No more hoarding! Of course losing some of the excess pounds that have accumulated would be good too.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the weight loss Kathy! 10 lbs in 2 months, slow but steady, don't get discouraged.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance at the awesome goodies.
I want to get healthier, finish our basement (to organize my new scrapbook room, and scrabpook more.
ReplyDeleteCute card Kathy...love that PAPER and your BUTTONS--too cute.
ReplyDeleteSetting a weight loss goal with a life milestone is great motivation. I will be turning 40 on my next birthday and I'd like to lose 50 lbs before that date (which is doable as it's still a ways away. Good luck with your goal!
