Polka Dots & Paisley & Blog Candy :-)
I got a little stamping in today while the kids were napping and I was watching basketball. Even though there are some good games on, I can just kinda focus on the game while I stamp. I'm putting my stuff away before the UCLA game since we'll all be glued to the TV watching our alma mater make a run at the championship.
Both cards use the Polka Dots and Paisley stamp set. I love this set since it's such a happy set and I think I love it even more because I got it for free :-) The card bases are Taken with Teal. The patterned paper is the Polka Dots & Paisley Designer Double Sided Paper. I also used Old Olive and Whisper White. Ink used was So Saffron, Taken with Teal, Old Olive and White Craft. Accessories include White Grosgrain, Olive Organdy, Gold Cord, Olive eyelets, and Gold Stickles from Cindy's Stickles Share--check it out since she's doing it again.
I'm thinking the focal image on the first card is a little off and I'll probably redo it but I was running out of time before the game starts and probably won't get online much. Dh and I are doing the Emerald 12K which goes across the Golden Gate Bridge. I'm pretty excited since the weather is supposed to be beautiful!
The scalloped squares on the second card are done with my Cuttlebug and the scalloped squares die which brings me to my blog candy--I accidently purchased 2 of the scalloped squares dies so my oopsie is going to be your good fortune. Leave me a comment about one thing that you like about Spring and you'll be entered to win. I'll ask one of the kids to give me a number to pick the winner on Wednesday 3/21 at 8:00 pm PST.
Thanks for visiting!

And to think I was coming here just to comment on your cards (great, BTW!). Well, since we have had some days of spring (and some of winter revisited!), I have enjoyed going in the backyard, on walks and to the park with my kids...I didn't realize how much I missed it (esp. as I watched my soon-to-be four year old attempt to ride a trike that was way too small for him!)...off to Toys R Us!
ReplyDeleteWow these are really beautiful cards. I love everything about the 2 of them!!!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful cards...not to mention blog! My favourite thing about spring is the sun shines. I live in an area where 200 days of the year it is either gray, foggy or raining. One can get cabin fever really quickly. In fact I heard that there can be between 12-15 ft of water fall during the year. So yes...SUN is a good thing. Although taking a walk with my 3 and 4 year old is also a breath of fresh air.

I love how the world starts to come alive in the spring... the first buds on the trees bursting into leaves.... the green grass poking through the brown stuff.... the flowers shooting up from the dark wet soil.... ahhhh
ReplyDeleteI love the whole "feel" of spring. Beautiful weather, fresh fruit and picnics. What could be better?
ReplyDeleteAmazing card creations, I admire your talent. Spring...hmmm, I love everything about it, it's been a loooooong winter! The scent of lilac bushes is probably what I love most though.

Well what I like about spring....let me see! I think there are several things I like. First the warmer weather, then the new flowers that bloom and most off people come out of their shells and we see more company and family! What is better than being surrounded by your family and friends!

ReplyDeleteJust being outside and enjoying our backyard. After a few days of nice weather here in Calgary, I realized just how much I miss being outside! Being on the deck, enjoying the sun, watching the kids play, listening to the birds...ahhh.
One thing? There are so many things I like about spring! The flowers when they first start sprouting up, the smell of the grss being cut, the coll nights when you can hear the animals, or the mornings you wake up and hear the birds. Too many things to choose from!
ReplyDeleteI love all the flowers during spring. The flowers in my garden, the flower stamps, and all the flower examples. Love it!

ReplyDeleteI love the smell of orange blossoms as I step out our back door. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about spring is that it's followed by summer!! We live for summer in Maine - it's our best season! :)
ReplyDeleteI like it when the grass starts to green up again. I hate brown grass!!!
ReplyDeleteI love to visit our local greenhouse in Spring. It's like a Picasso Portrait...every colour shade and hue imaginable.

other than the fact it isnt frigging cold? Spring means that my lilacs will bloom. As I have them in an area on the north side, they stay cooler and last sometimes in bloom into July and smell wonderful. I Had to fight to get these lilacs (hubby gave me a hard time for some reason, but I did all the work) but I loved having them growing up until dad cut them down one year. so one thing from my kiddy years I loved a lot.
ReplyDeleteI love the fact that I don't have to wear a heavy coat, hat, scarf, boots, gloves, or sweaters when spring comes around. Warmer weather!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about spring is the fresh clean, crisp smell that is in the air. Must have something to do with the melting snow!!
ReplyDeleteLove being outside without a coat and smelling the fresh, clean smell of spring and seeing all the new growth starting. Thanks for a chance to win some great blog candy!
