Back to Stamping

Ok, so the last couple posts didn't have stamped images but this one does. I had a little scrap left over from when I was first playing with my Nestabilities and decided that this Amuse stamp would be perfect for it. I stamped the girl with Brilliance Graphite Black which I had stamped off first (I have one of the dewdrops and it's super juicy) and then colored her in with Copics. I had a picture frame in my mind and used some I Kan'Dee Pearlescent chalks to color the outside frame in the silvery color--it's really shimmery but I wish it was a tad darker. I made a tiny oopsie and went inside the frame so I decided to go ahead and go over the whole image in the white/clear color--wow, who needs Shimmery White paper? The chalk made the paper super shimmery and sparkly.

I stamped the Paisley Background stamp by SU with Basic Gray ink on Basic Gray paper--I love how this looks like really plush and flocked wallpaper--and then hung my picture up with silver cord and a retired silver Vintage Brad. The sentiment is from So Many Sayings and is stamped on Whisper White with Basic Gray and then punched it out with the Word Window punch. I then rubbed the white/clear shimmery chalk on it and mounted it on dimensionals.

This is not what I had in my head and while I don't hate it, I don't love it either. So, if you were me, what would you do to change it? Don't worry about being gentle--I'm not thin skinned and this was a total playing around with scraps/pieces piece :-)

Thanks for visiting!

  1. I like it! Very elegant & fun! That background is amazing! I like the image hanging too! Is it bad that I don't have any suggestions??

  2. I like it...but two thoughts:
    1. you could change the silver cord for a nice organza for a little more appeal.
    2. or you could add a little something (punched heart?) to the bottom right corner of the image to draw more attention to it.

    I love that paisley background!

  3. I love that BG! It rocks! A suggestion from me...not that it would help...is to maybe add an extra bigger layer behind your main image to make it stand out more? I don't know...but I think it looks great!! TFS!! :)

  5. I am really liking the Nestabilites. Would these be better then buying all the punches?

  6. I love the paisley paper...so elegant! I don't know what size this card is but when I have a small stamp, I tend to stick to the 4X4 size cards. I also will use pop dots to make my image pop.
