Happy Mother's Day to Me!

Look what's going to be in my hot little hands sometime tomorrow!!!!!! I cannot wait to play with it!!!!!!! Dh thinks it's silly that I need such a nice camera to take pictures of cards but I'm really trying to convince him that it's not just to take pics of cards--I really, truly am tired of getting crappy pics of the kids since they don't stay still long enough for me :-)

So, all you Digital Rebel users--point me in the right direction. Got any tips for me? Any books I need? Any get websites to learn more how to use it? I'd appreciate any and all tips and suggestions you've got.

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Well, you have the new Rebel than I do but the 2 books I got to learn more were: Digital Rebel XTi/400D Digitial Field Guide by Charlotte K. Lowrie and The Digital Photography Book by Scott Kelby

Have fun with your new camera! We love ours!

Understanding Exposure is the best book out there but there is a website with video tutorials, I think it's the canon site, those are really good too, especially learning how to do stuff.
Have fun with your new baby!

  6. Good choice! I recently got the same camera and just LOVE it! I just posted a few photos from my recent vacation on my blog and had several people email me regarding what kind of camera I have. I was very happy with almost all of the 400+ photos I took. There is still a lot I would like to learn about using it so I'll have to check out some of the books/websites listed here. Have fun with your new toy!!!

  10. Congratulations on yur new camera. I hope you love it as much as I love mine. Since I am still taking classes for Photography I would not be the best person to help you. One thing that I have learned though that has helped me a great deal is the F-stops and the shutter speeds. If you can memorize the f-stops that would help a lot. If not do what I do. Bring the chart with you. :)Did that help or confuse you?
